If your camera is not recording videos and motion clips, you don’t need to worry about it. Many users face this issue. This problem occurs when your Wi-Fi is lost or the signal is low. The problem can occur due to incorrect motion settings or due to the cloud storage being full. In this blog, we will show you how to get your color camera to start recording again in just a few minutes.
Fix Ring Camera Recording
Check Your Wi-Fi Connection

If the live video is stopping or the device is showing offline, move the router closer to the camera. Remember, the Wi-Fi speed should be at least 2 Mbps upload for the Ring Camera to run smoothly.

Ring not recording motion
If the Ring camera is not recording motion, open the app, go to the motion settings, and check that the motion setting is on. If not, turn it on. Go to the motion zones. This is where you can add certain specific areas that the camera monitors. If these areas are not added, the camera will not record them. Check the motion frequency settings. Select Frequency and Standard. This records the video without missing anything. Users can solve the camera problem by adjusting the motion detection, frequency, and motion settings correctly.

Check Power or Battery Status
The main reason why a battery-powered camera stops recording is that the battery power has become so low that it is no longer providing the camera with the power to record. For this, the battery needs to be charged or changed. Check the battery icon next to your device name in the battery power covering app. If the battery health is less than 20 percent, change or charge it. In wired and doorbell camera models, take special care that the power cable or doorbell wiring is properly connected. Check that the power cable is not loose or damaged.

How to Reset or Restart Ring Camera
Restart the camera to start recording again. Restarting can sometimes solve many errors. Depending on the camera model, remove or unplug the battery and wait a few seconds. This will reset the camera’s internal system.
If your camera is still not recording after restarting, then you need to do a full reset of the camera. To reset the camera, press and hold the setup button on the camera for about 15 seconds. This will help reset the camera and force it into setup mode. It updates the camera’s Wi-Fi connection issues, recording settings, and motion zones.
Check Storage and Notification Settings
Check the notification settings in the Ring app. The camera may be recording, but not sharing alerts with you. Turn on notifications so that whenever the camera records a video, it will share alerts with you. Check the storage. Make sure there is enough storage so that the camera can record smoothly.
Final Thoughts
Reset and restart the device. Strengthen Wi-Fi. Update recording settings. Motion zone settings. This fixes minor issues. If your Ring Camera is not recording, it will start recording again.
